Bernie Hems chats with historian Dr Tony Gilmour about the Kiama and District Historical Society which turns at 50 this year. At the society’s birthday bash on November 22, Tony will launch his new book about the Historical Society; Celebrating History, Defending Heritage. It brings to life why the Society was established and the fight to win control of the Pilot's Cottage, which was threatened with being turned into a fast food takeaway shop.
